Violent Video Games Can Trivialize Youth Violence
Research shows that violent video games (such as Halo, World of Warcraft or Call of Duty series) can trivialize youth violence, increase aggressive behavior in children and young adults, and increase thoughts and feelings of participation physiological and aggressive (Abelman 2007, Olivier 2000). The murder of an American couple by their teenage son in 2009, after the parents confiscated his favorite game, seems to confirm the findings of this research and give an example of the potential negative consequences of gambling addiction.
